People love spending time picking specific colors, patterns and themes to match the nursery when purchasing crib bedding for their newborn. What they often neglect to think about is the type of fabric their baby will sleep on. It’s a little ironic because babies don’t care about the colors and patterns of their bedding, however, the type of material the fabric is made from is very important as it can have a huge impact on your baby.
Cotton, it turns out, is farmed while using pesticides and insecticides. Those toxins are more abrasive on the skin and may contribute to a rise in allergies. Babies’ skin is more delicate than adults’ and is therefore less resistant to bacteria and toxins. Novela is a company which strongly believes in manufacturing bedding for infants made only from organic cotton. Their products are 100% certified organic pure cotton. All of their items are non-allergenic, non-toxic and non-irritating.
I recently received a comforter from the Ela bedding collection from Novela. This collection is suited for a girl, with pink flower design and green polka dots. The collection features a bedding set (which includes a fitted crib sheet, a crib skirt and a bumper), a sleep sack and a comforter. The comforter is extremely soft (204 thread count) and elegant. The wow factor is that it’s two-sided: pink flowers on one side, green polka dots on the other, so it can be used for either a girl or a boy. The comforter has a polyester filling but is pretty thick and fees like a down filling. It’s fairly large in size (42’ x 33’) so your child can use it during toddler hood as well. It comes in a case which makes it convenient for storage and is also great for storing other items.
You can buy the comforter here for $120.
I was not paid for this post. I did receive a comforter for review purposes.
